  • may the economy someday be run entirely by computers that started out in stock trading?

We are now inventing software that can predict the best stocks to invest in short or long term. Someday they may also be willing and able to analyze news reports for relevant keywords or phrases that may affect stock prices. The idea of an auto-trading computer could make these more efficient. Even neural networking has been used in stock market trading programs.

So what if these became so popular that 1 day 99.999% of some stock market transactions were made by computers.

Do you think this could happen and what would the world be like with a software program running how people invest.

I’m 22 and I’m interested in buying stock from a certain company. I’m unsure how to go about doing this. Can I go online and buy, similar to some online business? I’m also wondering about the specifics of "shares." If the stock I’m interested in is at about 90.00, does that mean I pay for 1 single share of it?

On a side note, I have a corporate job and also a part-time fun job, so the poor economy is not really affecting me fiscally. If I have disposible income, is now the best time to invest?? Or is this the worst time to invest?

  • If I have bankruptcy history, would I still be willing and able apply for a federal job?

If I can, how long should I wait? Or may I pass the security clearance? I dont have some records nor even a ticket but because of the economy we had to file bankruptcy but im very interested in applying for a federal job.
for EC911dude, thanks for the info but I am definitely blaming the economy coz the reason we filed bankcruptcy is that he lost his job that he had for 15 years and luckily Im still working until now.

SO my wife and I purchased our first home in 2006, and shortly before we had our daughter. Due to a lot of time off from work due to complications in my wife’s pregnancy, and me losing my job we fell behind on the mortgage. We struggled with paying what we could until the economy got really bad in 2008 and we couldn’t afford to even pay the morgage at some. Then in June of 2008 we lost the house to forclosure… Now my credit score is in the low 500’s and I can’t get approved for ANYTHING. I know from researching that both foreclosure and bankruptcy stay on your credit for 7 years, but which is better to deal with??
