What car insurance is most reasonable for teens in NC to get if theyre on his own?

I get my lisence in april and it looks like my mother isnt going to help with the car or the insurance so i need the most reasonable possible insurance available. I live in western NC. some comments?

Trust me, it seems like it sucks now, but you’ll feel better later than you aren’t letting your Mom pay your bills. It’s pathetic. Anyways, AVOID bigger companies like Progressive/Geico….etc. They charge out the A$$. Go with a small local office, make calls to a few, and pick the cheapest liability you can. Just don’t get into an accident, they won’t cover your car or the injury expenses for the other guy if it was your fault. That can quickly add up to 100K or more if it’s bad.

Insurance for teens is traditionally high. You can probably find cheap insurance, but make sure you understand all the policy terms and how fast they can raise rates or cancel your policy. Cheap policies normally mean low coverage, high deductibles and few infractions before being terminated. Once you are cancelled by a company, you will be considered high risk, and there are no low rates anywhere.
