We some know the oil in our planet won’t last forever, but our addiction for such a precious thing increases as the need for more energy and more power on a more technological era increasing also our vulnerability for disaster in the global economy. What would happen to the worlds economy if some the oil existing today was gone forever? Would we adapt to new way of energy or the world would be a total chaos? Please give me your thoughts. Thanks

What would happen to the worlds economy if all the oil in the planet was over?

Aneutronic fusion, without neutron hazards, is in the near future. It does not produce carbon dioxide, and it has energy density millions of times more than fossil fuels.

Well, this would be a issue if there was not dropping demand and in oil or many reserves are created faster then we can pump them. Petroleum Geologist are finding that oil is created much faster then we previously thought, and the oil reserves grew 11% in 2008.

When the oak forests of Europe were mostly cut down for firewood they discovered that this thing in the ground called coal would burn pretty well. In modern times we would build nuclear plants and take the planet all electric. This would have a desirable side-effect in that we wouldn’t have to endure all the whining about global warming from the enemies of capitalism.

If it ran out overnight there would be total chaos. But it wont, the production will very slowly fall year after year for the rest of this century so we wil have plenty of time to adapt.
There are many alternatives to oil, both energy sources and energy storage devices. Wind energy, solar energy, nuclear, fusion (sooner than you think), algae biofuel, hydrogen, coal, coal gas, compressed air, batteries, flywheels and ultracapacitors.

If it ran out today- we would probably use synthetic oils like what can be made in a lab. They tend to be fairly expensive- i believe around 2.50 a gallon to make, though this summer there was serious talk about mass producing this stuff as it would finally have been cost effective.
They don’t get rid of the pollution issue though so people would probably still insist on low or non polluting alternatives.

Human is more adaptable than any other living thing in the world. Human will discover something else in place of oil and things will be fine. Already many started using alternate fuels and within short time frame some will be already independent of oil.

There will always be a source of oil.
It’s just that the stuff in the ground is cheaper to process.
You know there’s nothing wrong with using oil, but there is a benefit to make it burn cleaner.
There are trying to do with oil like they did with diamonds.
Ever think about diamonds and why they are worth so much, a diamond is pretty much useless in the whole scheme of things.
Sure they look pretty but it doesn’t do anything to help one survive in the universe, gold is pretty much the same thing, useless, but somebody coned us all into thinking it’s worth something.
But oil is worth something, it helps us to survive cold nights,we make things everyday from plastics, this why we shouldn’t regulate how much we use it because every ones needs are different and oil unlike gold and diamonds is useful to our survival.
